Good Book

I was currently reading and fairly closed to finished with Biography of Physics by George Gamow.  It has to be one of the best books I've ever read.  I would suggest to anyone that is remotely interested in physics to read this book.  It goes through everything that physics class didn't.  It pretty much goes from the start of physics to the most recent stuff of it's time which is now almost 40 years old.  It explains different formulas and how each area evolved over the time period and why one formula or theory is better than the previous.

Intel Making Money in First Quarter

Intel has made over $9.43 billion in the first quarter this year.  The expected revenue was $9.31 billion so they even surpassed expectations.  They did very well because there Pentium M (mobile series of microprocessors) set a record for the quarter.

Motorola's New Razr Cellphone

I don't know, maybe I'm just a little out of touch.  Personally I'm not a very big fan of cellphones.  But in the earlier days cellphones were much thicker, and now with better technology they can put these in smaller and smaller cases.  And that's fine and all as long as it's safe.  Cellphones emit lots of radiation and waves that are being beamed directly into your head.  Why would anyone want to constantly expose themselves to this radiation?  With the smaller and smaller cell phones there is less area to put in buffering objects meaning that people are being exposed to even more radiation.  I'm just wondering about all the tests and such that have been done covering these.  How many people are going to get cancer from this very thin cellphones.  The link is to an article about the Razr cellphone.

Einstein

I had a post about Einstein awhile back.  This article talks about him and all of his achievements at such a young age.  This article reflects a little bit of a side not many have seen from Einstein showing he was a ladies man at times.  I can relate with him on his quote at the end of the page.  " I am a completely isolated man and though everybody knows me, there are very few people who really know me."  I'm not that popular that a ton of people know me.  But out of everyone has come in contact with me a lot think they know who I am but in reality only a few really understand me in full.

Cars that won't let themselves crash

Bill Gates and Ford are teaming up and trying to impliment a new technology in cars where the cars will attempt to fix themselves and not allow them to be crashed through automatic braking and other different ways by equpting sensors on the car and collecting data and interpeting it and making the necessary adjustments.  I think there is no room for this in the auto industy.  Are people really that irresponsiable that they can't make there own decsions and drive alert?  If they can't then they really shouldn't have a license in the first place, get a job by where they work and maybe use public transportation if they don't have any close geocery places.  I could also see this technology being bad in certain cases maybe causing the car to lose control on slick roads because the cars doesn't know there is snow on the ground and they lock the tires trying to stop whereas pumping would've been a much better idea.  I really don't like the idea of this technology and I think the money would be spent better investing in something else.

Purdue Industrial Designers Make One Cool Bi-Trike

Three Purdue industrial designers came up with a cycle that converts from a tricycle to a bicycle with speed.  It seems like a great idea to me providing stability at slow speeds and as you gain speed because of the rotation of the wheels it's harder to fall over anyways.  They ended up winning the top prize for the competition they entered and are working on a prototype and patent for their bike.

Doom 3 for the xbox

Personally, I havn't played doom 3 for the xbox yet, hence why I'm excited for the end of next week among other reasons.  I got the game for the pc, I had to turn all my settings to abnormally low, and it still ran choppy at cut scenes.  But the game nonetheless scared the heck out of me.  I mainly got it because I've always loved the series and was hoping that the multiplayer would be awesome but it isn't very good for the computer.  I heard it was decent for the xbox though, I'll have to try it out.  But the game is awesome and if you like fps I would suggest at least playing though a couple levels of the campaign.
